Lyrics
Verse 1
There's a place that we speak of as heaven, a place where we all wish to go, Where the gates are of pearl and the streets are of gold, and as pure as the crystal white snow; It's a place where the angels are singing with praises before the white throne. It's a place where I long to be joined to that throng, it's the place that I want for my home.
Verse 2
When the trials on earth are all ended and life is no longer to be, In that heavenly goal may I anchor my soul, when I cross o'er the fathomless sea; In that place we refer to as heaven, a place of angelic delight. There Jesus awaits for to open the gates in that place where we knoweth no night.
Verse 3
When the angel, with Christ in His glory, shall stand on the land and the sea, When the last trump shall sound and the word shall resound that the time is no longer to be; What a blessing to know there's a heaven where Jesus has gone to prepare, What a joy it will be, if the Lord says to me, "There's a mansion awaiting you there.
