Verse 1
Two men were walking the road to Emmaus. They'd heard the biggest thing the world's ever seen. The Jews' Messiah had come to save Israel, At least they thought He was the one to redeem. A Stranger came, "What are you men discussing?" The men were sad about the news they had heard. "We can't confirm our Messiah has risen." The Stranger showed them from His Holy Word.
Verse 2
Their journey came to the town of Emmaus. The Stranger told them He would travel on. The men constrained Him, "Just stay with us one night. The night's upon us and the daylight is gone." Are we in thirst for some time with our Savior? And are we hungry for His sacred Word? Our weakest moments are when we most need Him. He's walking with us, He's our blessed Lord.
Verse 3
He blessed the bread in the town of Emmaus. He broke the bread and to the men He gave. Then both the men saw the Stranger just vanish, But not before the men would know His face. He walked with them all the way to Emmaus. They saw the Savior on that wonderful night. He walks with us all the way into heaven. We'll see our Savior when our faith is sight.

Like the men on the road to Emmaus, after Jesus arose from the dead, Knowing not it was He who walked with them, knowing not it was Jesus instead! So when darkness and doubt come upon us, When the hard road just seems very long, Then in heaven I know we'll remember That our Lord was walking with us all along.
