Lyrics
Verse 1
I followed my Shepherd who led in the way. My feet became slow, and my eyes went astray. My faith slipped away, and I turned to the side And stepped from God’s pathway to walk in my pride.
Verse 2
I pushed through the thorns to create my own path. I fell in a pit with no way to turn back. My head was bowed low, all my hope flew away, And, trembling, I whispered, “Have mercy, and save."
Verse 3
The Lord heard my groan, and He came to my side. He lifted my head, raised me out of my pride, Established my steps on unshakeable ground, And gently He said to me, “Why did you doubt?"
Verse 4
He guided me back to the path of His peace. Now, walking beside Him, my trembling has ceased. I cannot be harmed, for Jehovah is here. With His staff to lead me, I cannot fear.
